Is there a way to tell the diference between a male and a female basilisks?If there is how can I?
Nothing easier than this. In adults only males have pronounced helmets and sails. Females may just have a small helmet but never display sails on their back and tail.
In B. galeritus, which has no sails, the difference in helmet size can not be overseen.
Depending on the housing conditions, these differences become obvious at an age of 7-10 months but not ealrier than at 6 months.
