Genetics Question

P_Reticulatus Jun 18, 2006 08:06 PM

What would be the offspring of a super tiger and an sun fire (visible het). Would it be 50% normal tigers and 50% sunfire tigers? Sounds like an interesting project to me.

if im not mistaken you'd get a normals, tigers, suntigers, sunfires, possibly a quarter of each.

That pairing would produce all Tigers, probably half of which would be Sunfires, and the other half hets.

I think. The only thing I'm really sure about is all tigers.

The offspring would be:

50% tigers
50% suntigers

There are no "sunfire hets", just sunfires or super sunfires. Let me know if you have any more questions...

are you sure........ cause when you put a normal and a tiger together youd get 50/50 same with a sunfire and a normal. so do the 2 codoms take over the whole clutch??? wouldnt you get some normals out of it too?

The original poster answered his own question correctly.

That is the correct projection. All tigers of which half should be suntigers. No such hets for either morph. I actually just committed to that exact project. I have a female supertiger now and my male sunfire is coming soon. I will post some pics after they arrive and settle.
