Help with boa ovulation

utilaboas Jun 18, 2006 08:14 PM

My boa ovulated today but she is in a deep blue shed.
My question is will this be her pos, are will she shed again in a week or two?
Thanks for any help anyone might have.

Sometimes they shed once or twice before dropping later on.
Sorry I cannot help any more than this.

OK, first are you sure this is an actual ovulation? It could be a pre-ovulation swell. My boas normally go into shed cycle around the same time they have their pre-ovulation swell. If your 100% sure that this is an actual ovulation then write this date down. Then you need to count about 18 weeks for a due date.

Now it's not uncommon for a boa to shed shortly before ovulation. Just don't be looking for a POS in a couple of weeks. It might not come. Go by her ovulation date to determine a due date.

If she doesn't shed in a couple of weeks it's OK. She may have a POS halfway through the gestation or she may not have one until after she gives birth. This is normal. I find that not all boas "go by the book". LOL.

Good luck with your girl. I hope she drops a big pile of babies for you.
