RETF BIG SWITCH

atimbers Jun 18, 2006 09:08 PM

I've been keeping 3 baby RETF in a 6 Gallon tank. They where a cm long and now are about a little over an inch long. Are they ready to be moved into thier 20 gallon tank i have built for them? its got bromelaids and all that other good vivarium stuff basically the works im not so worried about them since they seem to being alot. One concern i have is that i dont want them drowning in the water i have in the terrarium how deep can the water be and still be safe. the 2nd is i have 3 neon tetras in the water for look. Will this stress the frogs in anyway? id like to keep the water about an inch deep.

I have water on the bottom of mine (partial) and it's about 3" but I have wood all around so that there is always something to grab onto just in case. Mine are about the size of yours now, I just got them this week.

The only thing I would say is to make sure that you have been checking the temps and humidity levels 2x a day and that they have been holding for about a month before putting them in there. You don't want to be making changes after they get in there. Mine love the Pothos that has taken over the tank. It went from a 3" plant to one that's about a foot wide and tall in just 3 months. I'm glad we had to wait this long because it allowed the tank to "grow in" and they spend most of their time sleeping on/under the leaves.

Also the fish are fine, I have 6 zebra danios (a bit bigger than neons) and the only thing is that maybe some day they might get eaten. That's why I went with the cheapies. I really need to post a new pic of my tank. It's a 29 gal with a waterfall and is now heavily planted.
