Miracle...

icedearthgoddess Jun 18, 2006 10:37 PM

Well, the day has come, he is gone. I did all I could and he fought hard too. Miracle passed this morning. It was hard to see him not breathing, with his once bright eyes sunken in. I really wanted for him to make it. I am very sad to see him not survive, but I know he held on as long as he needed to. Thank you to all who helped in making his life as good as it was when he was here. Yeveryone who gave advice and had faith made it easier in taking care of him. Please tell everyone you know about this issue of keeping leos on sand. Let them know that there is always the risk, and the consequences can be real, and fatal. If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I appreciate all the support for Miracle. Thank you and please take care.

im sorry for your loss...
but i must say that im glad he is in a better place. i have refraned from posting replies in earlier posts because i felt the leo should of been put down in the beginning. he was suffering at least at some level. he would of never been able to live a normal life even if he made it past the impaction. im glad that he had someone to care and love him for the last few weeks of his life though. but if their is a next time(hope not) please evaluate the option of euthanasia if it is that severe.

I had to try, there are no miracles unless you give them a chance. Unthinkable can happen, but it needs a chance too. Thank you for your opinion though, take care.

I think your efforts show a great deal about what kind of person you are. I also believe that one should always try. You never know, you could change the way afflictions are treated if you succeed in bringing an animal to a full recovery.

Thank you for trying.

I haven't really been on this forum because I am a realtively new gecko owner but I watched the videos and the pictures any my heart just broke! I just want to tell you that my water dragon had issues when she was laying eggs and the vet said she was really bad off, she didn't walk, her eyes were sunk, she looked horrible and I wouldn't let her go and I hydrated and tube fed her by hand for days even though she wasn't improving. I would sell my car to pay for vet bills before I gave up on one of my babies. I think the decisions you made were the right ones, you were the one who saw Miracle every day and knew him. I believe in a heaven for all creatures and I think Miracle is up there with some of my old friends, smiling down on those of us who loved them and provided them with the best. I wish you the best of luck in all, you must have great karma. This is a picture of my retf Jane, who I lost to old age about a year ago, and my bullfrog Oswald, who's long life ended in April of this year. I see them chillin' like villains' with Miracle in peace.

Thank you for the kind words, I miss Miracle, but I do know I did all I could. Miracle tried his best too, but he was too far in the impaction process that he held on for as long as he felt necessary. Again thank you to all who have shown great kindness is all of this.
