I am really tired of trying to explain to people why they dont have a lemon pastel or a blond pastel..Seems as if every Tom..Dick and Harry that produce a nice looking pastel offers it as a blond or a lemon.
Could you please grace us with some explination and photos of both so the record can be straitened out....

all of my blondes did not show any signs of being"blondes till adulthood, which was described to me when we baught them. i currently have 2.2 adult blondes and all are some of the best adult pastels i own. i do think that blondes are the nicest pastels into adult hood.

Ok, I will have to come back with some pictures since I just caught this post.

I see people claiming this and that and often I disagree with what they are calling it.

Just to back up. These names denote different lines of pastel from different founder stock.

Lemon Pastel which was my wild collected line that appears in best case example black yellow and white. There is not a great amount of blushing and the super is generally a very bright black , yellow and white. One problem is that a really good Lemon Pastel willgive my Super Lemon Pastels a run for their money.
The super has no where near the amount of blushing you would find in most other pastel lines. There is often some dorsal neck striping and a pattern associated with the line. This is not absolute but often seen. This line does not generally have orange on it..... a good Lemon has none and makes for a clean adult. The orange on pastels generally burns out on the shoulder area making for a bit darker appearance.

Graziani Pastels denotes Greg's line......this line is easily different from the Lemon and displays way more blushing. The super shows a great deal of blushing. The difference between super and pastel of this line is obvious and leads to little confusion. This is the classic form of pastel.

Blonde. Well, I am not a wealth of information here but the original sire was a very washed out looking pastel that was quite pretty. The babies I have had from this line looked classic pastel but I think as they grow they get a fair bit of fading through the pattern. This line has orange on it.

People will continue to name their pastels this and that and we can just sit there and stare with our bleak thoughts. Many times I cringe to see waht they have named a Lemon but that is just me.
