adamjeffery Jun 19, 2006 02:02 PM

sorry for no pics but it was kind of impromptu and i did not have a camea.
i found 1 eatern milk female 24 inches long(kept), 6 garters 1 was very red maybe hyprerythristic tons of green frogs 1 huge toad who is still under the same tin(went back late last nite.)
all of these were seen in hinsdale new york in catt. county at my buddies house.
he called me last nite and said he had a 4 ft milk for me. when i went up their it was a 42 inch monster and a attitude to match he had a weeze and a prolapsed hemipenis, we relesaed him do to the problems.
my female that i kept is the best mannered wild caught snake evr she did not try to bite or even musk, she will be a must appreciated addition.

Nice eastern.Pretty typical of the color we have here in Pa.
The first one I ever caught was 42" and very tame.Wish I had kept it.
The one pictured was given to me the other week by a freind who does pest control. He removed it from a basement.
This one has an odd looking green tint to it.More so in person.
I beleive it is a female, though I have not probed it.It also is very tame and has eaten 3 F/T fuzzies.

That I caught last week under some tin.Smaller and more reddish.

What part of PA? I'll be visiting NW PA over the 4th of July and hope to get a pic of a live one while I'm up there.
By the way, do some locals call them "spotted adders"?
thanks.

I'm in Lycoming county.I have heard of them being called spotted adders but most people around here think they are copperheads. It's a shame, they just don't know.
Here is a pic of my 5 year captive blackrat from Lycoming Couty.

Nice animal! I think I'll be in Warren county, PA.
Just about any herp is a new one for me (FL native) up there.
I have found waters, ringnecks, greens, browns, and red-bellied snakes there but no rats or milks...Maybe this year.

Hey Matt,I'm in Linden.Between Williamsport and Jersey Shore.
Caught the blackrat near Hughsville.Give me a holler next time your up this way.

Will do, although my next trip home over the 4th, I'll be camping with relatives up near Hyner. Should be goood for timbers..they saw one their last time up there.

I've found black rats, milks and eastern hognose at my grandparents up above Barbours. It's kind of far north for hognose, but they are there, just rare.
