>>are the router tables compatible with all Routers?
I believe they are pretty universal, but I think a few craftsman model router tables have trouble accepting porter cable router's, not quite sure though. I would by the router I wanted before getting the table.
If you have the money I would go and by the TS with the router table wing as an accesory. I have that ability with mine and it is awesome. I also leave my router attached all the time, although I got a new router so I may reconsider that.
>and what kinda of bit do you use to for 1/4 inch deep and 3/4 inch wide cut?
A straight bit, my suggestion if the bit is going to get a lot of use go with a higher quality bit not just el chepo. freud makes really nice bits that are worth the price but they have a hell of a price.
One tip when useing a router and bit do small passes up to about an 1/8 deep working up to the final depth. The bit cuts better and you are less likely to mess it up when cutting.
Another point is with the router attached to the TS you have a huge work surface compared to a traditional router table. They also make drop in plates you can attach to you own work table.
Good Luck
