Nice. I caught my first two Pituophis while vacationing in Vegas this year. At the end of the month I'm heading off to Santa Cruz (CA) to try to find my first Pacific Gophers. Below is one of the Great Basins I found in extreme southern Nevada.

Nice finds. It's really neat to see the pattern differences from locale to locale. Sunday night I got my self a yearling(?) female Great Basin Gopher out in the Hi Vista (CA) region while doing some night driving w/ the guys from the herp club that I belong to. The base color's that same beautiful tan/cream but the pattern on the back is black instead of brown. Hope they stay pretty and clean like that into adulthood.

Very nice- any pics?
I took my 6 year old daughter back to the spot I found him, and we walked around for about an hour before she started complaining about being tired- struck out.
We did take some cool pics of some of the surroundings, bugs, etc...
I can't wait until my son is a bit older to take with me- he just turned 3, and has the attention span of a, well, a 3-year old!

The guys I was w/ took pics so I'll see if they can post them. If all goes well, we'll be back out there this Sunday also.

As a san diego local, I have to say good looking out. Keep up the good work.
