color question...more URGENT *try to reply be4 3:15pm

HerpGirl Aug 01, 2003 12:23 PM

i am hoping to soon get 1.2.0 leos. colors as follows:
maleatternless
1st female: patternless
and then i was thinking about:
2nd female: albino patternless
so i was assuming that patternless patternless=patternless (logically)
wot about patternless albino patternless?
would it be more worth while to get the 2nd female sumthing different instead of albino patternless? thanks

in the last post i meant to say.. how do i get a patternless het albino? the rest of the post is correct

I don't have any Patternless but a patternless het for albino looks just like a patternless. If you breed the patternless het for albino to another albino or het for albino a percentage of the hatchlings will be albino. To get a patternless albino you would need to breed the patternless het for albino back to the original patternless albino and as long as you are talking about rainwaters approximately 50% patternless albinos and 50% patternless het for albino. The reason you would not get any Patternless albinos from the original breeding is that the male only gives the offspring one allelle for patternless and the female will give them one allele for patternless and one allel for albino. It takes to allels to make a recessive trait show.

have you ever seen a patternless het for albino for sale? im just wondering on price and stuff.
wots a good morph to breed to a paternless male? in you guys's opinions??

Check out crestedgecko.com he has juveniles for $50 and adults for $60 If you only wish to get PA's you could also get a regular double het but then you would be producing 50% normals double hets instead of patternless. As for the Patternless male it really depends on how fast you want results. It is impossible to hatch any genetic mutation other then hets and patternless from a patternless male. You could try to breed for different color patternless but this will take years of line breeding. You could also breed him with an albino to get double hets for Patternless albino or banana blizzard. If you would like to see a major difference in the F1 generation the only option you have is to breed him to other patternless. Sorry for the long post genetics are hard to explain clearly.

WEll all the offspring of the albino patternless would be patternless het for albino. If you temp sexed one for male, and bred back to the mom, you should get 50% albino patternless according to stats.
