Zahara gave birth!!

AbsoluteApril Jun 20, 2006 11:13 AM

Hi boa forum!
Wow, feels like it's been forever since I stopped by. I had to share, I am so excited!

I woke up this morning to find that my 6 yr old high pink female BCi, Zahara, finally gave birth! I originally counted from the wrong shed and my due date was almost 2 months off (gee, could you tell I was excited about this breeding?!). This litter is the result of a breeding loan done with Tim Magee of Rainshadow Ranch, he sent a gorgeous male hypo harlequin who obviously did a terrific job! In the picture you can see a hypo baby and a normal under it (in the back).

I had to run to work this morning so I didn't get a count, didn't get a good look or anything... I cannot wait to get home and check them out!!!
I just had to share this news with others who would understand my excitement... non-herpers don't always understand.

-April

whoops, she is 8 years old, not 6! She was born in 1998 and I adopted her in 2002 and this was her first litter and first breeding attempt.

I'm so glad that little guy got in there, and "GOT-ER-DONE"!!! your excitement & enthusiasm is a wonderful reminder of "what it's all about" for me! I don't know how you'll make it through a full day at work though, try going straight into the boss's office, and go into agonizing detail about the whole breeding process, your expectations,etc...on & on for about 30 minutes,(usually about all most non-herpers can take,I've found.)mine usually can only take 15,or so before they politely ask me to take the rest of the day off,and go-the-heck HOME! (well most of the time anyway!*LOL* it's always worth a try!!!

I can't stop thinking about these little squirmy babies waiting for me at home. I wish I could leave work but alas half my team is in meetings so I am stuck at work! This is torture. I think my co-workers are very sweet and understanding tho, so I take back anything I said about non-herpers! lol Check out the snake cake they got for me, it says congratulations and has little snakes made out of frosting. They are so silly! (but sweet!) I'll email you more details of the litter tonight!

Thank you for all the kind words everyone!
I've got an hour and a half before I get to go home and really see what I've got going on. I'll get some more pictures up this weekend.
This is my favorite picture of her, taken back in 03. I am so proud of my boa momma, she did such a good job!
