Az trip

dvl May 19, 2003 09:47 PM

Had a great time---weather was perfect & it looked green compared to last year. Saw fresh & moist chuck poop but our only venture to chuck habitat ( Silverbells) was a skunk. Saw & chased ( shortly)a few DI's too--- they run faster and further in the wild that in a pen!! Hey Jerry-- My kid had a test or at least classes most every day of the week even though he got time off from the Air Force-- so we did not have time to head for Phoenix to do some real chucking. I sure wish we would have been able to make it but maybe next year!!! Got jillions of pics-- but no chuck pics.

Oh yeh--- did I mention we saw moist, fresh chuck crap?? That was better than dried up old crap!

I'm dying to see all the pics of fresh chuck crap! LOL. Too bad you didn't see any. Did you bring any field glasses (binoculars)? I wished I had brought them on my last trip...The lizards would stand still, until I stopped the van...I can't imagine how many went into hiding as I approached while walking. If I had more time, I would have sat for several minutes, and scoured the rocks for re-emerging lizards.

If you can, send me some pic via e-mail, as I cannot go to webshots.
