Female Albino Question

drasticplastic Jun 20, 2006 01:48 PM

I've heard that some adult female albinos have problems with pregnancy, is there any truth to this? I realize that complications can and will happen, but are albino girls more prone to this?

I believe that it's "possible" for "some" Albinos to be born sterile. I have a pair that is 7 years old and they've never produced anything. I've tried the female on 4 different males, 3 of which were proven breeders. My female Albino has been bred many times, but she's never "ovulated". This leads me to believe she's sterile. I've tried the male on 3 females. Only 1 of them was a proven breeder. I figure since the female may be sterile the male could also be. These Albinos are siblings, so I've never tried breeding them to each other. I don't mind, because I got them as "pets" in the first place. It just would have been nice if they had given me some babies. I do have a pair of Hets that produced the first time I put them together. The Hets are 3 years old.
