Speaking of Mites and Other Parasites

Has anyone tried diatomaceous earth in their cages? I purchased some to sprinkle outside and the instructions seem to indicate to is pretty safe to use as an insecticide in a wide arrange of applications.

I know it is marketed for various applications with livestock, but I’d have concerns for the respiratory health of snakes permanently confined with any product containing crystalline silica.

Also, wouldn’t diatomaceous earth lose its effectiveness as a mite killer under the humid conditions typically found in python cages?

But, no, I haven’t actually tried it.
