I just keep a small freezer in the snake room and order a bunch of prey items at a time from rodentpro, but a lot of guys breed their own rats.

I feed all my retics/burms pigs, as I've found that you can get them switched from rats relatively early and they are drastically less expensive.
We maintain a huge rodentry building with literally thousands of rats, hundreds of rabbits and scores of mice.
We also run a fairly large pig farm but that is maintained out of doors.
Breeding and raising ones own food is a LOT easier and cheaper than anyone thinks it is. When you have over a couple hundred snakes it is the only economically sensible route to take. Even if one has only a few snakes it makes sense. The cost per pound to raise your own reptile grub is less than 1/10th the cost of purchasing it.

I am with the first poster. I have a freezer in the basement and order from rodent pro or from others.
I don't want to deal with all of the cleaning, and the smell of everything (rats and rabbits, plus the wife would fall in love with the rabbits). I have the luxury of buying frozen food. I guess it comes down to I would rather pay for conveince then deal with that. But I only have 7 snakes not 100's. I may think different or if I had a facality.

Hey Kayden, i keep plenty of frozen jumbo rats and feed rabbits that i breed myself. Are you trying to grow your Tic fast? Youcan regulate feeding to "Control" growth. Rodent pro carries frozen rabbits, so do some of the others. Do you have just the one Retic? Craig
i got 1 female retic and one male burm thats 5 1/2 '.just buying rats all the time and rabbits every 2 weeks gets expensive.i pay 8 for feeder rabbits and 4.50 for a larger rat.i just trying to cut the cost.im looking for a tiger norm and maybe a couple of carpets
Sounds like you're buying from a Pet Shop!? Raise your own or buy bulk Frozens. It's the best way to Save Money!! Craig.
