what wattage bulb should i buy for a 4*2*2 homemade plywood enclosure? and can you just buy normal flood lights from menards or walmart does it have to be a reptile hot light?

4x2x2 i would try a 75-100 watt spot from home depot or walmart is fine.
naw you don't need a bulb from the pet store it is made i think by the same people who make the home depot bulb.
i recomend a temp gun get them radio shack 20 bucks i found out today just how inaccurate those zoo med thermometers where

i assume you have a UVB source if not get one if you want to use a tube scales has them on sale 14.99 for zoo med 5.0
if you want to use mercury vapor bulb ( i recomed this) look herpsupply.com
zoomed powersun than you may not even need a spot bulb.
