Best Friend Lost

Crust112 Jun 21, 2006 11:27 AM

Well, this morning after watching the Mexico world cup game I decided to run to the bank. On the way out I went to check on the one being thats always been around for the last year. I moved to a new town, hadnt known a single person a year ago. Except my Veiled chameleon that I had purchased weeks before. Well, a year later and I justed found that he has passed. It appears that he fell. Im pretty upset, but I needed to tell someone else that might know what its like. I doubt I will own another chameleon for a while but thanks to everyone here that helped when I was researching. Everyone here was very nice and helpful. Best of luck with your friends.

many of us have lost our little dear ones (I lost Luna just a year ago - July) and it is always hard.

As for the cause, the fall may not be what killed him, he may have died then fallen. Hard to know what happened without the necropsy (and/or serious look at your setup, etc.) and most folks don't bother - it is an expense and is also determined on your personal "need to know" and everyone's is different. I understand not wanting another. I did not get Cyrus until March and knew I did not want another veiled, at least not now.

So be assured, many of us share your pain - and the not knowing. Sounds like he had a year with someone who cared.

It never feels good even to READ about anyone losing a pet.

And it's worse when it's your own. Very sad news, I'm glad you had his company when you were lonely in your new home after the move, and I'm sure he felt comfortable and secure knowing he had you too.

Hope you feel better real soon.
