Some more Aussies from the Gardens

Kestrel Jun 21, 2006 08:14 PM

Some more photos for ya. These ones pretty much suck due to me having to use flash inside the dimly lit building, but hey better then nothing eh? Terry's collection really is amazing.

King Brown Snake, Pseudechis australis

Tiger Snake, Notechis scutatus

Eastern Brown Snake, Pseudonaja textilis

Blue Bellied Blacksnake, Psuedechis guttatus

Yeah I hadn't either. It had the build of a Tiger snake, but was all black.

I know, the snake's a bit off topic on this forum, but you didn't happen to get a shot of the rough scaled python, did you? Another one that hid in the corner when I was there.

I did. The RSP was the main reason I went to hang out with Terry. lol. The photo op. Get to be the first person to take high quality RSP photos here in the US.

Thanks for posting-nice pics. Trying to get mine posted but can't get them resized small enough-got decent pics of the big eastern diamondback and the puff adder, and one of the bushmaster(that's another that was hiding under leaves and things but that makes it a neat pic).

No prob, and thanks.

Yeah that big EDB was enourmous. And I love the Horridus x EDB. Gorgeous snake. The St Louis Zoo has one in their collection as well, although i don't think its on display. Got a few pics of it as well but they aren't very good.

Are you using Photobucket? Or trying to upload here?

I was trying to upload here-basically direct transfer from my digital but they won't downsize far enough. Maybe I'll just scan the prints-I've had good luck that way before. Detail won't be as sharp as yours but it'll get the pics on.
Anyway, nice pics, thanks for posting them-nice place to spend a day.
