Color change ? for Keith

Keith, the female I got from you decided to go from bright white bands to dull gray. Was it you that posted a long time ago about one of you snakes turning gray only to get her bright white bands back a few sheds later? Is so, is the snake I got from you from the same line? Could it be a genetic thing? She just shed but still gray.

Well there in my opinion is a couple of reasons. One is that they are going to be like that as adults permanantly and the other is due to hormones maybe. In my case my females seem to get real dingy and gray before laying and for most of the rest of summer. Come fall and a good shed they are usually back to bright and beautiful. Now if a snake is steadly getting graying from a young age then likely it will stay that way. I have had some look pretty plain ass babies then have them grow into awesome clean adults though so who knows. Best bet is to look at the adults and Zee owns them so he can maybe post new good pics of his pair of N. Florida Kings.
