I wrote a post last Monday about my sick veiled and I took him to the vet Tuesday morning. They tried to give him fluids and stabilize him, but he died on Tuesday. I don't know what happened to the poor little guy. I've had him for 2 years and he seemed to be ok until just a few days ago. He was sick once before about a year ago, but I caught it in time. I guess I just didn't catch this one soon enough. How long should a veiled chameleon live? Rex was about 2.5 years old.

oh i'm so sorry thats so sad. i think they usually live about 1.5-4 years but i have heard of some that lived to be around seven. once again im real sorry.

Sorry to hear about your loss Males live much longer than females since they don't have the stress of producing and laying eggs. I've read that males can live to be 6-8 years old maybe longer. How was your chameleon acting when it got sick?

I remember your posts...very sorry to hear about it It seems as tho' loss comes in waves on this forum, but know that we are all thinking of you.

It's hard when you lose one of these guys.
