genetics question on snow and sunglow

Z_G_Reptiles Jun 21, 2006 11:09 PM

Hey, i was woundering what you would get if you bred a Sunglow boa and a Snow boa? i've seen people breed sunglows with boa and claim they have a few sunglows and was woundering if you'd have some sunglows het for moonglow and the rest albinos DH for moonglow, i'm not 100% sure but i've been told the moonglow is a albino hypo anery.
Thanks
Zack

If you breed a Sunglow to a Snow you would get:
50% Albinos het Snow
50% Sunglows het Snow
Hope this helps Vinnie

'Moonglow' is an animal who is anery, albino, and hypo. Only one of the parents carries the anery gene (the snow), so you will get NO percentage 'moonglow'.

The above ratios are correct, but the sunglow het snows could also be considered het 'moonglow'.

sometimes have to watch the breeding of the albino gene. if the trait is showing in the boa sometimes breeding two albinos results in bad things.
