Aggresive Bearded Dragon, Help!!!

magnus1028 Jun 22, 2006 01:02 PM

Hi All

I have a Juvie Bearded that has been a little too aggresive for my taste. Everytime I go to pick her up she gapes and lunges for my fingers and gives me a good bite. I have tried to hold her for long periods of time while petting her head and throat area, but she still has this mean streak in her. Is there anything else I can do??

Thanks

mine is the same way sometimes.. especially when you come at them from the top of the cage. (my females cage is HUGE so its on the floor) It took some getting used to on her part from me popping in on her from the top but she was fine after a while.. Try putting your hand in the tank in the cage somewhere around her so she can check it out and see exactly where it is coming from. The only way you are really going to break her of the habit is lots and lots of interaction!

I agree the only thing that will break her of that is to keep trying. Dont be scared when she goes to bite or shows aggression, if you do then she knows what she is doing is working and youll let her win. Just keep it up!
