Will H. - photo question...

lele Jun 22, 2006 06:58 PM

I was looking at some pics I took of Darwin and I will admit he is rather stunning yellow I was surprised when I downloaded them and he was almost orange! Couldn't;t imagine why was wrong since all the lighting, etc. was same as always. So I checked my settings and sure enough, I had the color set to "vivid" instead of "normal". I had been taking some garden pics for a client last week and apparently forgot to change it back.

OK - so my question is...can I easily(one step) change that in PS or should I do it manually (my manip instead of PS) and adjust to what he truly is. I know I can do that, just wondered if there was a one-step option.

Thanks!

There are some fairly accurate auto "guessing" tools that photoshop has built in. There are two steps, first under: IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>AUTO CONTRAST, and the second being: IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>AUTO LEVELS. If you wish you can also use IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>AUTO COULOURS, but most colour is corrected with the change of the auto levels, and so when you do this option, I sometimes find that the colours Don't show accurately.

That should help. Do us a favour and post the before and after photos.

thanks, that's what I usually start with and then make my own adjustments if needed. Yes, I will post the before & after. If he were truly the gold/orange of these pics (and he is a translucent) I'd have to insure him! He's my little stud.

I got a Misty Mate for Cyrus who is OK with it, but Darwin notices as soon as I carry it near his tank -he sits up real striaght to get blasted in his face! I will post those as well!

thanks,
lele

Glad your Misty Mate is working out! Squig likes his as well. I am it at the center support, and he lapps the water right off of it. I then spin it around a bit and mist the whole cage.

It is getting time for his next shower. Hope he continues to enjoy these.
