Feeding Hatchlings

jmartin104 Aug 01, 2003 02:32 PM

I wanted to start out my hatchlings (50 - 64 gr.) with rat pinks. I can't find them in my area. Has anyone had any issues with feeding rat pups (about the size of an adult mouse) to hatchlings.

I'm afraid if I start with mouse fuzzies, I won't be able to get the snakes on rats.

TIA!

I agree with you that rat pups are the best food for hatchlings, but I have also had trouble finding them on a consistant basis. My snakes, however, will take fuzzy/hopper mice or rat pups and I have never had any trouble with hatchlings that will not take the rat pups.
