WC Western Coachwhip

johnbort2 Jun 23, 2006 07:15 AM

Someone had one for sale in the classifieds. Found out it was WC about a month ago. Do these make good captives? I would think not...I have never purchased a WC animal(don't generally support his aspect), but I don't see these pink beauties for sale very often. Besides adding an indigo to my collection, this is the species I want the most. Any thoughts? Bill, I know you breed these..will you have any available..if so, how much do they normally run? Thanks much.

"don't generally support his aspect" let me clarify this statement. I generally buy captive born when it is an option. Not bashing those that collect for breeding diversity, etc.

I know the guy, His snakes , even though wc, are top quality snakes. Eat well, docile calm and treated snakes. You couldnt ask for a better whip then that. Whips Do make good pets, there just underrated. I have had experience w/ eastern coachs, which I got from him, The coach ate well, wasnt aggressive at all. My point is, whips do make good pets, And most everyone your gonna find is going to be wc.

Zach.

I have two western red coachwhips, which I believe were purchased from the same place as yours. Both are fantastic animals, completely unlike any other snake I've ever worked with. Both are very alert, eat like horses, and continue to baffle me with just how smart they are. One is relatively tame, the other I'm still working with (she gave me a nice little bite on the kisser the other day.) But yes, I totally recommend them, they're great animals.
