I live in Michigan, and as long as its sunny and not to cold for me to sit out with shorts on, I take mine out and he LOVES it. Just be careful he doesnt ingest anything.

Air temps outside of 70-80F are fine to bring your dragon out in, as long as they are able to bask in direct sunlight. Just watch for fireflies as these are toxic to dragons if eaten. Most other bugs are ok but better to keep them away. Wild bugs may be exposed to insecticides which can prove toxic to your dragon, especially in high concentrations.

Just make sure your dragon has a cool place to go to if he gets too hot in the sun, is in a container secure enough to prevent him from running away or being attacked by something outside. NEver leave him outside unsuperviosed unless you have a fully enclosed cage for him outside.

my dragon HATES going outside.. she freaks out as soon as we step out into the sunlight and then once I sit her down she goes into attack mode and lunges at anything that moves.. shadows, as well as me.. I guess she will get used to it after a while?

It may be a better ideal with the frightened dragon, to bring her ouside in an opaque plastic container with the top off, thus she can get the sun but can't see alot of the 'outside'. SHe could be experiencing a kind of sensory overload seeing teh big wide open of outside. Limiting her view may allow her to adjust better.

You can keep and breed beardeds outside year-round if you live in San Diego. It never gets too cold to ever hurt them. During the santa ana weather, make sure they can cool off by giving them plenty of shade. Your colors will also be more intense. Josh
