Question for the serious Python owner.

Justinb. Jun 23, 2006 10:12 AM

I am in need of a list or a website that can tell me all the python species. I have found one that seems pretty decent but its says its been hacked across the top and the link to the new site does not work. Thanks everyone in advance.

I've been known to joke around a little bit, nor does my minimal herp collection improve my googling skills, but a pretty comprehensive list can be found on the Animal Diversity Web. The taxonomic classification is a bit outdated---curtus isn't broken up, scrubs aren't further classified, and they are missing ssps, but its pretty close to all of them, and very light further research can clear up the former curtus complex and the former amethistina complex.

A word of warning. One of the first sites you probably found was a site belonging to a certain R. Hoser. Be warned he follows his own taxonomic system that doesn't conform to ICZN nor necessarily to gene sequencing, observational data or the opinions of anyone else...

A specific link to Boidae on ADW:
