Jeff Ronne had a really good article in Reptiles Magazine years ago and there's an older book out there called "The Reproductive Husbandry of Boas and Pythons," but both are pretty old.
i have the book Boas & pythons (breeding and care) by erik D. stoops & annette t. wright but i feel its not too detailed .. if you can suggest a site or a book that is completly dedicated to breeding that would be better
Here's a good one:http://www.riobravoreptiles.com/care_breedingboas.htm

Things always get cloudy, just before transformation.
To cool or not to cool? I know both are successful, but is one more successful than the other? If a female has always been cooled in the past would not cooling be a viable option?

1.0 DH-Sunglow
cooled ?
to drop the temps in preperation of breeding, mimicing the change in seasons.

I cool but only based on the natural cooling due to the temps outside, Maybe 3 degrees.
How do your litters come out?
Do you get a lot of slugs?
Not usually, actually they have been really good for the most part. I really dont think cooling or not cooling has any relation to slug count anyway. I usually keep the males in the cooler spots in the room and the females in the warmer spots.
Cool! That's great.
I was just thinking that maybe the temps might affect the males' sperm count.
I think only extremely high temps will kill the sperm. I am not 100% on that but that is what I have heard. Vinnie
Thanks, Vinne!
I just read Dr. Mark Seward's video on ball python breeding. Which I thought was very good, I e-mailed him to sugest one on Boa Constrictors he replied that he's working on one. I can hardly wait, I always wonder if what I'm doing is the best way
