special hunting license for young or old

JohnOH Jun 23, 2006 02:32 PM

I wasn't aware until I was reading the hunting regs today that there is a :
"special resident hunting (type 102) $6.
valid only for residents and non-residents younger than 17 and residents 65 years of age or older. Valid to hunt any legal bird or animal. Stamp endorsement requirements apply to persons 65 and over."

There are some advantages to getting old.

And, for you bringing your kids, particularly from out-of-state, this will save you some money.

Good Hunting.

John.this has been on the regs for sometime. So you won't have to wait as long as me to qualify for the special permit and then you can use your SS for gas money . LOL ! Now.........where in the heck have you been in the past several years ?

Well, it was my nearness to the legal age for "hunting license relief" that caused me to look it up. And that it applies to out-of-staters too should be good news for some. I know that most of the herpers are junior to me in age, but with all the gray hair I see out there, there must be a few who qualify.
I'm still here. Where are you?
I'll probably run to val verde county this weekend.
