I only have 4 bloods, 2 neonates and 2 sub adults. All of them can be easily handled without biting, I have been bitten by all 4 of them, they are more temperamental than burmese pythons, but will calm down as long as you interact with them frequently. Once they loose their fear of you being a predator looking to eat them, they will calm down quite a bit. their bite is typical of pythons of similar size. Mine are more cage aggressive and calm down when removed from their enclosure. I have been bitten by most of the big guys type of pythons, the largest being a 17 foot female yellow head retic, I must say if I am going to get bitten I will definitely choose the blood python over the larger types of pythons, but being "tagged" occasionally is in my opinion a part of keeping these snakes, no one is perfect in their husbandry techniques and these are wild animals and no matter how "tame" you think your snake is, occasionally one of them will remind you they are in fact "wild animals" So one must stay alert when working with your charges. I think most species of snakes will become more tractable in captivity as long as they are not acquired as wild caught adults. I have two African Rocks that are as "tame" as my retics but I always keep my guard up to avoid any altercations. Here is a recent acquired Sumatran Red Blood from Quality Rainbows, he sells nice red bloods who feed like little machines, I recommend him when it comes to his animals and his outstanding customer service.
