Hey All,
Sorry if I'm coming across as a melodramatic/egotistical maniac with this clutch of Borneo's. To say I'm 'passionate' about keeping reptiles is an understatement. I think after 14 years (keeping full time) I'm more interested now than ever before in my life, so please forgive me if I ramble and post pics like crazy, etc... I'm just WAY happy they are hatching!
Anyway... Here are a few pics of new 'Ultra' babies from this clutch of 29 eggs.
I think in the end I'll wind up with 25 live and 4 dead in egg. How many special babies? Not sure... so far three are confirmed 'Ultra-Breit' babies. I think there are like 9 still in their eggs and I have no idea what they are yet!? But, I'm not going to hold my breath for really any more as I'm pretty certain this larger clutch will actually be lower in 'Ultra' count compared to last season. I'm still VERY happy with the results so far. More than anything else, I'm happy to reproduce the trait as it gives me 100% confidence that it's truly genetic (not a fluke random event last season). Now, how does it pass? Well, that's still part of the mystery!
Matt
A 'normal' sibling is in the pic for comparison.
This snake reminds me of a 'Green Burmese' Python:
Another 'Ultra'. Not as dramatic, but will still be a nice animal in my opinion:
