BLEACH BACK updates, history, pics......

Daniel Klopson Jun 24, 2006 09:48 AM

Hi guys and gals, many of you remember last season when I posted the Bleach Back babies...... since then I’ve had many, many questions about history and availability of these animals. Let me tell you how this project started. In the year 1999 I stumbled upon the most Yellow female Col. Boa I'd ever seen at a local pet store. She was 8 feet long and had retained a bright clean color as an adult. I'd never seen her equal so I quickly purchased her and smiled all the way home! I bred her that year to a normal looking Col. male and she produced 28 live babies. As babies they all looked fairly similar to me.... but as they got to be six months old some started to look very different..... they were turning the same yellow as momma! This is the sad part of the story...... I fell on hard times and like a BONE HEAD I sold momma and all the babies. Well not ALL the babies...I kept three! Thank Goodness! I didn’t have a digital camera back then so I have NO good pics of the momma that started this. But I have pics of her F1 and now the F2 babies! The pics in this part of the post are her F1 babies. You can see to females from the same litter and how different the coloration is becoming, then as adults how AWESOME the change! These photos are true color, not touched up...

The bright yellow female in the pic. above is named Brooke. She’s about 7 foot in that pic. with that color! She had babies with a normal looking male thats het for stripeline albinos. Almost exactly half the babies were dark and normal looking and the other half glowed in the dark! These babies were AMAZING to look at! This is when I knew this was going to be a special project... thus BLEACH BACKS! Some of the Bleach Back babies not only had the super lite coloration but also crazy saddles.... these are some of the bright babies 8 months

That snake is very cool looking. I really hope you can produce more. A salmon bleach back would be a sight to see. Sweet project.

Those are some incredible looking bci's! 8) I would love to purchase some boa's form that line. The color and contrast is very different yet so very beautiful on those baby's. The mother in my opinion is nice as most T positive boas! Again get project you got there! hope to see from that line! Thanks for sharing.
Take care,
Jake
