Is he fully submerged in the water? If so I never knew that pyxie's would be able to do that sorta thing. I always went with the pacman frog assumption of pyxies not being very good swimmers. But I recall when my pyxie was young and went he got scared in his pool he would submerge himself to make it look like he wasn't seen. He also sometimes swam a very short distance to try and flee and would quickly pop up out of the water.
