HELP!!!! Eggs!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

kimota Jun 24, 2006 04:31 PM

I've had a Red Eared Slider and Mississippi Map turtle for years. This morning I woke up and there were three eggs in the bottom of the tank.

I believe they came from the slider because the eggs were sooo big compared to the map.

What do I do?

They have an floating island but no where to dig and lay eggs... and three eggs seems like less than I would expect them to lay. I tried putting the slider in a rubbermaid with lots of dirt but it didn't dig at all.

I'm really freaked about the potential for egg binding or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the turtle laid eggs in the tank, she probably had to. Eggs laid in water would most likely not survive. But I would try to incubate them anyways. My female laid also only 5 eggs (in sand though) and only 3 developed. Good luck
