We have a premature hatchling that is still connected to the umbilicus, but is completely out of the egg. Has anyone dealt with this, and what is the best way to proceed with this baby?
Thanks for your help.

take a deli-cup (with holes in it),,,,,wet the inside.dump all the water out...you just want it wetted.....place baby in it till the cord falls off and hole heals......the lick cup will keep it from tearing the hole open on a dry surface.....
clean it like twice a day....remember that water will rot flesh**...so if you don't rinse the cup and snake off a couple times a day it will get stinky and too much water will actually rot the cord off and maybe the snake's belly.....
** water rots flesh......to clean flesh off like skulls my brother just sets them in a bucket of water ,and changes the water everyday...the flesh falls from the bone fairly fast.....(boiling skulls off will weaken the bone structure and they may fall apart).......
......
......I have used the damp cup method a few times a year for a long time now.......you save almost all of them this way.....

off of skulls?
Many people collect bones and skulls as decoration, art, and photography subjects. I know people like this, and to get the bone and skulls sterile they remove all the flesh and then dry it out thoroughly. I have a dog skull I found, I keep it in a glass case. It must have been a mastiff or something because its as big as my head. Its pretty bad***
