baby toads

otis07 Jun 25, 2006 01:58 PM

i have 5 baby american toads (more to come) and some of them still have tails, but they are not eating. i've had tads before and they sometimes don't eat much/anything in the "inbetween" stage, but when should i start to worry? they are about .25 in long and adorable.

Cute little guys! Well, I have 3 Fowler's Toadlets and they are all newly morphed. One still has quite a large tail. I've been offering them fruitflies, but I don't think they've been eating much if at all. I'm assuming their digestive tracts are still changing...but I don't know. They are all very active. So my guess is that we should give them about another week? I hope someone with more experience answers though! Good luck with your babies!

awww, i love toadlets!!! we now have 6 total, every time i go out there is more. i put some pinheads in, but none have been eaten. i've had tads before of a different species and they didn't eat for a few days- i think 4-6 days. are you going to keep all yours? my mom says i can keep one- allready have one adult american toad: 21 other pets. you should keep a male one, their call is awsome! it sounds like a baby crying but kinda different. it's like waaaaaa waaaaaaaa... good luck and keep me posted!

Sweet! Are those WC tads or did you hatch those yourself?
