A few eggs gone bad

HerpZillA Jun 25, 2006 04:05 PM

I checked my ziggity zaggity eggs that were laid by surprize on June 4. I found 2 that were just gone. I have them on sphagnum wish I know is not preferred, but it was all I had a the time. The first week, they all looked so good. So i left them. I did pull some of the sphagnum I had on top of the eggs to a very light layer. It seems teh moss is getting moister if that makes sense? I have not added water at all. I think it is because some moss if breaking down.

I've had a lot of herps in my life but was never into breeding. A few things here and there, like my ball pythons last year. But they were super easy. but never as a real goal like wanting to do the corns.

Bright side, other eggs look nice and white, some little clear batchs here and there. They also look like they are growing like beardie eggs do. But not to that degree.

I noticed some degree of growing in my corn snake eggs as well. Not nearly as much as my king eggs, though. Sorry to hear that you lost some eggs. The good news is, if they make it through the first two weeks, you should be good.
