Sounds good in theory........

OK. Sounds like a good idea. To get the hatchlings to eat, stick 'em in a deli cup with a pinkie.

Here's my question....How do you get the squirrely little chumps in the deli cup?? They are no ball pythons, willing to curl up in a little ball and wait for you to gently place the lid on the container. They are all over the place. I'm afraid of squishin' somebodys head trying to get the lid on. One of them actually drew blood he got so mad. (I've had 'em bite a lot, but they are so tiny, you generally wouldn't even know they bit unless you saw it happen.)

Settle down, Kids!! Maybe I can find some tiny paper bags to put 'em in. Might be easier.......

You might try putting some shredded newspaper in the deli cup. This gives them some "cover" which they might be more inclined to flee into then a bare empty cup.

Good Luck,

yes, paper bags are used, might be easier. To get the snakes in the deli cup, put the lid half on and encourage them to crawl into the cup, then close the lid. Hard to explain without visuals! lol

If you think getting a baby corn to go into a deli cup, you really oughta try working with baby Honduran milks! To solve your dilemma, you might want to pick up some "deep dish" deli cups - they're harder for the snakes to crawl out of.

OK, most are not that hard. But paper bags are far easier.

BUT, if you want to use a deli dish, and have a corn that is hyper this is my way.

Cut a "U" shape semi hole. I usually do it side ways so it looks like a door opening. GEE a door lol.

Pop in a pinkie.

Now put on the lid. open the flap, point the little booger to the opening and he will slither in thinking he is getting away from you.

After he is in, tape it closed. You can set it inside another container i.e. aquarium or tub, just in case.

Works on tough snakes like hondurans too.

Two questions:

1) Have you ever actually tried that method with Hondurans?
2) Do you poke holes in the paper bag?
