I like them too. Not as much as Zonata, but
I'm planning on buying some hatchlings this year.
The supplier I want to buy them from does not yet have them available, though they told me they had eggs and suspected they would have young available feeding on f/t pinkies sometime in July.
I can't wait. I've been tempted to buy from other dealers that have them now, but I like the dealer I am going to go with - they are very open about their breeding programs, husbandry methods, etc. and they seem like good people who really care about their snakes as animals and not just a living.
I'm definitely going to get two, depending upon how some eBay stuff goes - I may get four (four would require the purchase of additional caging). I might though just get two, and get a pair of something else (Florida or Desert kings).
I've never used f/t mice before - but I think I'm going to with them, and any future cb babies I obtain.
I said it once, I'll say it again! Jetzen, gotta love those Mountain Kings! Thanks for the photo's!

what do you like better, knobs, fancy pyro morphs or just normal pyro, pyro?
I prefer the pyro pyros.
My understanding is all the morphs are actually hybrid - if that's the case, they still are beautiful but to get a morph through hybrid with other species is cheating in my book.
Not suggesting that it is wrong to do so, as long as they are represented as such - but it seems often they are not.
With the knobs, it seems you have to be really careful about their lineage because of problems that are result of too much inbreeding being farely common (spine problems are what I was warned of).
hmmmm?..........i did'nt know all that. i like the basic pyro, pyro best because, they look beautifully pure and simple.
It should be noted that I'm parroting what I've heard from talking to some people since deciding pyro pyro is what I wanted to obtain - no personal experience.
someone gave me a knob...He had incubated the clutch at the wrong temp so it had kinks in its back...i like the normal pyro, pyros and the zones..

Are you sure the kinks in the back are the result of incubation temperature?

Note: Due to the limited genetic material present in captive collections, many specimens of L. p. knoblochi exhibit spinal deformities, particularly at mid-body. Use caution in selecting specimens and attempt to select breeders from separate bloodlines to avoid this problem with your hatchlings.

I can not verify that from other sources, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Personally I like the good ole' high black cross over Pyro's and Zonata. I'm not too crazy about the Applegate phase Pyro's.
I'd LOVE to get a hold of some of those Yosemite area Zonata's.
They're almost completely black and white, with just a little red for good measure.
Take care!

I like them all pretty much the same! I have some normals, but i have a trio of high band count Baubles line pyro's (2nd pic) and i have a pair of Applegates as well...
This year i bred my applegate male to my normal female... so, i should have some nice 100% hets in a couple of months.

They are all very nice but i like the normal best.
Just plain ol' beautiful pyro pyro for me, please, thank you... Don't keep any... yet, but going to Az next month to herp the mountains & chase the monsoons and see what turns up.
