better make it quick though. this is his last clutch to be incubated. he is tired of trying to sell them when nobody is interested in CBB. sad story but i understand his frustration
It's a shame, but it's true. The market for quality captive bred monitors is very small for all species, much less animals that are commonly wild caught. When I bred dums I had a hard time selling them. Heck, I used to feed storri and caudo eggs to my ackies. Then there is dealing with the buyer, that's a whole other nightmare.....
funny how my problem is too much breeding success.
I just froze a clutch of perfectly nested dumerils eggs, if someone can tell me how to post multiple pics, I have a cool nesting sequence.
Here is the last clutch we hatched, 6/6/06
12 out of 14

Wow, Ben, you make us sound so arrogant. I apologize for my supposed better half. He needs to work on his tone on these forums. But yes we have been up to our ears in these babies...and yes often dealing with the buyers is not fun. Though we have fortunately sold to some excited and well-informed people.
It has been a lot of fun breeding these guys, so I am sad to put a hold on our breeding for awhile. It is unfortunate that people still want to buy wild caught over captive bred.

wow.
Looks great. I can't wait.
No worries, you guys have hatched a bunch of really pretty monitors. You and I and a few others have learned that hatching monitors isn't rocket science, start out with a healthy pair, feed them well and give them a decent environment...wham....you're a puppy mill.
The problem is what to do with all the hatchlings.
Good Luck
