csiviper Jun 26, 2006 03:25 PM

thinking about going to it since i live only an hour away. how does it compare in size to daytona. are there many vendors there.

what are the dates for daytona this year. do you think it is going to be as big as other years since gas prices are up making travel costly.

it was a fairly good show last year. Not as big as daytona but bigger than the monthly shows by far. there are some great vendors there and if it's only an hour from you and you have the day to do nothing than I'd go, unfortunately I have to work so I can't go this year. Now for daytona, the Hilton is already sold out of reptile special rooms so if you are going to go stay the night, you will be spending alot more on the room than you will gas or be staying several miles from the show. People plan all year to make the trip to daytona so a few extra dollars on travel expenses won't change the attendance much.

I've attended the Orlando fire show for the past 2 or 3 years. It's a good show. Greg Graziani, Neil Golli, Amir, and others were there last year. It provided time to talk to the breeders without being pressed and there were some good buys.

Daytona on the other hand is awesome! But the crowds are crazy. Many times during the day you can't even get up to some tables (NERD, Greg's, etc.) there are so many people around. But, then again, if you want to see all the big and some smaller breeders in one place with the latest morph on display, Daytona is it.

Go to both! I can't resist going. I only live an hour from both shows. It doesn't get any better for a reptile show junkie! You never know where you'll find that snake you've been looking for and frankly, I can't sleep if I know I missed a good show. I would say the Fire show is one of the definite go to shows even if it's just to look. Andy.
