What Kingsnake is this?

Kaysie Jun 26, 2006 08:06 PM

This snake was rescued through a friend of a friend, etc. I have absolutely no information about it. It ate recently, and seems to be in fairly good health. Can anyone tell me anything more about it, based on appearance?

But that's a milk snake.

I want to say it's either a sinaloan or a nelson's. I guess pueblan is a possibility as well.

I concur but I did not want to say anything until someone else did.
Milk snake is what I think too.

PS: I'm also 1500 miles away from my snakes for the summer, so I've never actually SEEN this snake, just through pics sent by my HerpSitter.

Although I would like to agree with the others I think it could very well be a central plains milk(gentilis). Have you any post-shed pics?

crimsonking Jun 26, 2006 09:00 PM

I don't see sinaloan or pueblan there....but..
anyway, the "white" bands seem too gray.
Some Ruthven's have a similar look but I don't think it's a Ruthven's either..
Central plains comes to mind.
A good pic after its shed will be best for a good i.d.
Could be an intergrade or hybrid as well.
No help here I guess.....

As soon as I get word that the little guy has shed, I'll have some pictures, but after looking up the subspecies, I think I agree with you guys. I can't wait to meet the little guy.
