The calking was DOR, the gopher was alive and well. Someone emailed about road cruising and I wanted to see what I could find in a brief outing. Also saw two racers and a boa but they got off the road before I could stop.

Not when you consider how long it took me to turn around once I saw it. I had two cars on my tail who were already pissed becasue I was going so slow and it's a twisty one lane road to begin with.
And the real bummer about the kingsnake was that a car full of mexicans drove onto the shoulder to run it over, which I missed seeing by about two seconds. Instead I got to watch the snake writhe in agony. They almost ran me off the road and then stopped and stared at me like it was my fault.
Bummer about the King. It looked like a beauty. That Pacific Gopher's cool lookin'. Too bad about the Rosy boa giving you the slip. I probably would've crashed or jumped out of a movin' car for a Rosy.

So would I if I saw one in Santa Clara County. Alas, it was a rubber boa.
