This is a Yahoo group. I don't know if thats the one you want but hope it helps. Tom
ps. If you are Marc Papiernik by any chance the two redfoots I got from you are doing great. And for anyone who doesn't think torts need buddies these two won't even take a drink without following each other. Tom
Tom, this is Marc. Thanks for the info and I am glad to hear that the redfoots are doing well. They definitely seem to respond to each others excitement. When one starts to move to the food they all do. From hatchlings to adults they are very alert and responsive and always looking for food. Even the spider and hermanns hatchlings do this. The only tortoises that I had that never really moved if one of them found feeding were my adult flattails. They would stay in one place for days and never move!
Hello -
Pyxis planicauda (sp?) has been upgraded to CITES Appendix 1, whereas Pyxis archnoides ssp are still Appendix 2. However, I think that it'll be quite a while before we see Madagascar exporting the large numbers that they did a few years back. Apparently, they drastically exceeded the quotas for both species.
Sincerely,
Scott Alexander
