Hi, has anyone ever used millet for substrate and if so is it safe for collareds? I currently have washed and screened playsand but since I'm changing to white millet for my uromastyx I wondered if it would be good for collareds too.

They can get impacted from it, some may use it with no problems, but I personally like the washed playsand.
Collareds tend to jump in and out of their water and get the substrate wet alot, making a breeding ground for fungus/mold to grow on the bird seed.
This is just my opinion

Thanks, I'll stick to the play sand. My uros don't have water dishes in their cages so I did not think about collareds jumping in their water dishes onto the millet. I'm glad this site is here because you always give such good advice.
Doesn't she, though?? Eve's a real peach!
