Python Transportation

pythonnewbie Aug 01, 2003 05:31 PM

I am picking up a new baby ball on Monday. This will be my first ball python. What should I use to transport it and how long can it stay off heat while traveling? What is the best method of bringing my snake home. Also, is it better to use a heating pad, a lamp, or both? Thanks, Jessica

I would recommend a small rubbermaid container for transport. Your Ball Python should be fine for atleast a few hours at room temp until you get it home. As far as heating, if you are using an aquarium with a screen top, I would use a light and an under tank heater. This gives the snake a nice warm spot day and night, as the UTH will still be warm even when the light is off. Hope this helps.

you can use a cloth bag or pillowcase. Some use it is a lot better so that the BP can not see what is happening out of its enclosure it could scare it. I do not no Xcactly what the times are but just remember that BPs are mailed and they are mainly ok. I would suggest keeping the car warm/cool enough. And finnaly you can use lamp and uth or just the uth it depends on what u need 2 keep the temps right. But you should have some sort of light 2 indicate day or night.

HOPE THIS HELPS
