Which codoms already outnumber albinos?

sneakyfree Jun 27, 2006 10:34 AM

How long before lessers outnumber albinos? Do spiders, mojaves, or even pinstripes already outnumber albinos and/or pieds? My GUESS list of most common CB Morphs from most common to rarest based on classified ad ratios and show obsevation:

pastel
yellowbelly
spider
mojave
cinnemon/black pastel
albino
pied
ghost
carmel
pinstripe
lesser
genetic stripe
butter
clown
lavender albino

some curious thoughts: does anyone think there are more CB ghosts than albinos or pieds? yeah they have been around a lot longer, but so few started breeding for them heavily until the crosses started coming out...

how screwed up is the order of this PURELY SPECULATIVE list?

Who Cares???????????These questions can be easily answered with little research .

might be the better question. I cant see that kind of info EVER making any kind of differance. I bet no matter how hard you looked and no matter how many breeders you asked you would not get a reliable number. You would first have to have totals of all of these animals in collections. No one will ever give you a number like this. Why would I tell you how much money I have in my bank account? I bet even the big breeders couldnt give you an acurate number on this.

I think the relative production levels of morphs IS an interesting topic but I also agree with the last post that it's almost impossible to get a decisive answer. Going by ads in the classifieds is probably the best you can do and your initial list is probably as good as you'll get.

Interesting observation about the ghosts. I think they are a classic example of where low initial price (due to low initial appeal) kept early production levels down. On the other hand you have pied which might even be slightly more difficult to reproduce but who's high initial price spurred massive early production efforts.

In my initial post I was looking for some help/advice on how to more accurately determine CB morph counts, and count ratios because I agree with Randy that it is very challenging thing to accurately speculate on with any degree of certainty, and yet what information could be more valuable in determing the historic and future sale price dynamics of CB ball pythons? Moreoever, who might be interested in sale price dynamics? Is there a more common theme in this forum than price speculation? Maybe I should have started the post with a title that rings more true with so many participating who do it all for "the love."
