Any updates on BlueKing's "Golden Corn"?

fatjay Jun 27, 2006 01:47 PM

I haven't visited these forums in ages, and was just curious to see how she and her offspring are doing?
I'm sure everybody knows which snake I'm referring to.

I was at Zee's house in April and saw the snake. I know she laid some eggs this year but I can't remember if Carsten introduced a male to get a second clutch or not.

I can tell you that I saw all of her babies from last year and he has them on the "all you can eat" diet. heh heh heh. They were all 18" long or so and looked like normal corns. Pretty neat.

Zee asked me to put that snake on my table at Daytona so I am going to stop off and get her on my way down (I think) and set her up as a display animal.

Cool beans, thanx for the reply. Do you know if he's still planning on breeding the offspring together to see if the golden trait is genetic?

Yes, all of her babies will be bred to each other next spring. They are all well over two feet long currently (a couple of them close to two and a half feet). Next summer/fall we will all know fo sure about her "golden" genetics. (Sorry for the slow reply - been pretty busy lately)

Wow! Simply amazing! Seeing a picture like that makes me wish I still had my snakes. I think I'm gonna have to start up that hobby again!

Thanks for the update. I was just curious to see how she and her offspring were doing. Good luck, and best wishes! I truly hope it turns out to be genetic for ya!

I'm curious to know what kinds of offers you've had for that snake.

When is the Daytona show? I am over in Orlando and wouldn't mind checking out the Daytona show. I hear it is huge compared to the Orlando show.
