geez, Troy didn't give you ANY sort of message, so I guess it is up to me.
I met up with Troy W. in Del Rio. owing to the crud weather conditions I didn't see any reason to waste gas so I invited Troy to ride with me.
We started looking seriously about 3.5 mi. W. of Langtry and continued west. We saw our first snake in eastern Terrell county a bit after 10PM and it was that appx 24" alterna male. I was spotlighting to the right and Troy was looking at the same cut with his flashlight. I saw it and kept the light on it - it took at least a second for troy to see it. This was a big deal as he had never seen one on a rock cut. I asked him if he wanted to go pull it off, but he was already getting out the door. I then went to the trunk to get a hook. I asked him if he wanted to hook it or climb. He sayd "I"M CLIMBING!"
He climbed, caught it, then babbled like an idiot for the few minutes it took me to get my camera out of the trunk, put in film, put in batteries and attach the flash.
Way to go, Troy.

Is there something wrong with this critter or is it just the picture. It looks like it has a skin problem especially down the the back half.

Nice colors for a West Langtry.

no, not at all. its just the way the pic. looks as his tail area loops around his body.
