Hi, here are two breeder sites. I've bought three uros from Doug at deerfernfarms.com and one from Lindsay at urotopia.com. You can either call or email them to see what is available. Good luck in finding your new uro.

I'm glad to see you're doing the research before making the jump into Uros! Out of curiosity, though, how does one get this far without seeing the very obvious "Breeders/Dealers/Stores" category posted in the directory below "Kingsnake.com"? Or the equally obvious "Care sheets/FAQs/Features". or the Sponsers/Breeders listed directly above the Uro forum itself?
Anyway, welcome to Uros. They're great so long's you don't expect a lap pet. Some are "tame", most are extremely wary of their humans.

Deerfernfarms.com is a good breeder to buy a uro from.Calling Doug is sometimes easier then emailing him if you do email him you have to put Uromastyx in subject line or his spam will get it.Good luck!

Im looking for some breeder that will either trade, a box turtle captive bred, hatche by me, for a uro. or i would sell the box turtel then use that money to get a uro. either way i have a plan, lol. I try and look for Uros. that need a home before just buying one, i do that with all reptiles i plan to get, because there always one that needs a home.

I'm all for giving a pet in need a home but you have to consider that they may have some health issues that you will have to fork over allot of money in vet bill's.That's why many recommend buying from a reputable breeder. You also have to consider if you'll have the money for all the equipment you'll need for a uro such as large enclosure,2-3 digital thermometers, infrared thermometer(temp.gun),basking bulb's,A good UVB bulb and supp's I'm probably missing something.

Check out deerfernfarms.com if you haven't yet!

Lol, i have a lot of extra reptile stuff, like 2 spare 60 gallons, 2 40 gallons, a 20, and a 100 gallon, 6 digital themometer, 5 hydrometers, quite a few UVB/heat bulbs, lots of hoods and bulbs, i use to have chameleons so had some left over things, such as the bulbs. I am on edge on getting a URO. or a crested Gecko, either way it will have a good home, Not really worried about the bills and all that, money really is not a problem.

I just like to make sure people know what they are getting in for when buying a uro.You need a cage with dimensions of 4 ft.Long/2ft.Wide/2ft.High.A high cage like one you would use for a chamelion won't work as it's too tall and you won't be able to keep the proper temperature gradient.A great UVB bulb to get for a uro is the mega-ray from Bob Mac at reptileuv.com I have the 60 watt externally ballasted flood lamp kit and it's putting out about 300 uW/cm2 at 12 inches. If you get one from him just give him a call and explain your setup and he'll tell you what you need.

Buy one from a reputable breeder!!!!!!!

So if i were to get one, should i set up my spare, 60 gallon, 100 gallon, or 280 gallon?

cajit Jun 30, 2006 10:34 PM

What are the dimensions of the 100 and the 280?
